Meet the cast of Longwood's fall 2017 production of Tony Kushner's A Bright Room Called Day!
 

Brooke Casanova (Agnes Eggling) is pretty excited to be making her Longwood debut, some of her favorite credits include Becky Shaw from Becky Shaw (Hovey Theater), Izzy from Rabbit Hole (Hovey Theater) and Meg from Crimes of the Heart (Divine Stageworks).  Thanks to Longwood and Kaitlyn for casting me, Kat and the rest of the crew and cast for all their hard work, Steve for running lines with me but nothing else! and to everyone who comes to see it because acting to an empty theater is a bummer.​

Nicole Frattaroli (Zillah) is thrilled to be making her Longwood debut with this talented cast and crew! Earlier this year, she appeared as Miss Casewell in The Mousetrap (The Footlight Club) and as Alais in The Lion in Winter (Quannapowitt Players). Before returning to the stage herself this year, she has also been the director of Creative Arts, a Tufts University Children's Theater summer program, for 9 years. Huge thanks to Joan for helping the show with all things German, to her parents, BA, Gabe and all her friends who have enthusiastically supported her recent extracurricular endeavors, and to Kaitlyn for this amazing experience.

Chad Gobert (Emil Traum) is thrilled to make this his debut performance with The Longwood Players! His last performance was in The Mousetrap with precious voice work in chorus groups. Thank you to my fellow cast members and family for support as I continue pursuit of this newfound passion.

Taylor Hilliard (Baz) is elated to be returning for his second show with The Longwood Players, having previously been seen as Professor Bhaer in Little Women this past spring. Hailing from Reading, MA, Taylor received his training from the Michael Chekhov Actors Studio Boston. Favorite credits include: Ernie in Sister Act (NextDoor Theater); The Man in Marry Me A Little (NextDoor Theater); and Matt in The Fantasticks (Winchester Players). My deepest gratitude to Kaitlyn and The Longwood Players, to my friends and family for their love and support, and to this bright cast. “Life plays funny tricks…”

Evelyn Holley (Paulinka) holds a BA Theatre from Middlebury College where she received the Drue Cortell Gensler Thesis Award in Women’s Studies for her performance and collaboration in the original multi-media play Horizons. She has most recently studied with the Atlantic Acting School in New York City. Theatre credits include:   Everyman (Father), The Laramie Project (Reggie Fluty – Nominee, Best Lead Actress DASH), Savage in Limbo (Denise Savage), The Audition (Selected Best Female Performer) & Ana 3/11 (NY International Fringe Festival). Film Credits include: The Unloveables (Roberta); The Mulatto Diaries (Herself) & Other Voices, Other Years (Clara Armstrong).

Ruth Johnson (Rosa Malek) is a graduate student in the College of Communication at Boston University. She studies television, specifically television writing. However, she greatly enjoys getting a chance to act whenever possible. She has enjoyed playing Malek, especially with her spark and hunger for real, decisive change. Some past favorite roles include Harper Pitt (Angels in America), Orpheus (Metamorphoses) and Gottlieb Biedermann (The Arsonists).

Anthony Mullin (Herr Swetts) is thrilled to return to the stage with this very talented company of artists! Other productions in the Boston area include: ART (Serge) which received 4 IRNE nominations including a Best Actor nomination for Anthony and Best Play-Fringe, for Arts After Hours; My Fair Lady (Professor Henry Higgins) which received 10 DASH nominations including Best Ensemble Performance (Musical) and Best Production (Musical) for the Wellesley Players; Doubt (Father Brendan Flynn) which received a 2014 DASH nomination for Best Ensemble Performance (Play) for the Winthrop Playmakers (WPs); Kiss Me Kate
(Harrison Howell); Alice In Wonderland (Mad Hatter); Hedda Gabler (Judge Brack); Rock ‘n’ Roll (Max Morrow) with The Longwood Players (TLP) for which he received a 2013 IRNE Best Actor nomination; The Music Man (Prof. Harold Hill); The Laramie Project (Philip Dubois/Moisés Kaufman/Stephen Mead Johnson/Gil Engen/Rev. Fred Phelps/Dennis Shepard) with the WPs for which he received a 2012 EMACT Best Supporting Actor nomination; The Boys Next Door (Lucien P. Smith); As You Like It (Jacques); Nine (Guido Contini) for TLP for which he received a 2009 IRNE Best Actor/Musical nomination; Rabbit Hole (Howie); and Rumors (Lenny) with the WPs for which he received a 2008 DASH Best Actor nomination. Anthony is the current President of The Longwood Players. Originally from Jolly Olde England, he now lives in Jolly New England with his beautiful wife Joy, and their truly amazing daughter, Hope. “Thank you, girls, for letting me out to play!”

Holly Newman (Die Alte) is thrilled to be working on this timely play with The Longwood Players. Recent acting credits include:  Feeling Our Pulse for The Theatre Offensive; Linda Loman in Death of a Salesman at Roxbury Repertory Theater; Gray Matter at Jamaica Plain PorchFest; Hamlet, Wax Wings Productions; Girls’ Sports, Fresh Ink Theatre; The Diary of Anne Frank, To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Sam Cornish Poetry Project at Roxbury Rep.  She has directed for Playslam for Open Theatre Project, and for Six Playwrights in Search of a Stage at Rox Rep.  She holds a Master’s degree in Theatre Education from Emerson.

Nicole Ventura (Gotchling) just moved to Boston from New York by way of Sydney, Australia, and she is thrilled to be making her New England debut with The Longwood Players! Select Off-Off Broadway credits: Desire! [A Varsouviana], Little Town Blues, and Richard 3 all with Less Than Rent Theatre. Select Fordham University credits: For a Barbarian Woman (dir.
